Although owned by the exact same company, Disney World and Disneyland have similarities, yet many important differences to consider. When Mr. Walt Disney created the Disney Theme Parks, he wanted to create a place of magic where families of all incomes and backgrounds could visit and enjoy. However, one of the main differences between the two parks is the price for the experience. Prices vs. What You Get 1-Day Park Hopper At Disney World = approx. $217.26 1-Day Park Hopper At Disneyland = approx. $209.00 While going for one day will cost you about the same (for just a ticket), the amount of magic and enjoyment available does not match. For a single day at Disney World you are given access to 4 parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios (plus 2 currently closed water parks) while Disneyland offers only 2 parks: Disneyland and California Adventure. 3-Day Park Hopper at Disney World = approx. $510.97 3-Day Park Hopper at Disneyland = approx. $420.00 The longer you visit, Disney World ends up being more expensive but offers a lot more including rides, food, drinks, and merchandise. While Disneyland is in the hotspot of California, you pay just as much to get somewhat less of an experience. When talking space, Disney World is 27,000 acres while Disneyland is only 500 acres. Disney World has much more land that is not being used, however, it is still a lot bigger than Disneyland. Your money goes a lot farther at Disney World than Disneyland. Rides There are 173 rides at Disney World while there are 58 at Disneyland. Both parks share many of the same rides, too! If you love thrill rides, Disney World definitely has several extra options although some fan favorites are in Disneyland. For example, Incredicoaster in Disneyland is a thrill ride with drops and one big loop. On the other hand, Disney World has Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, another fan-favorite! This ride is special because it has swaying carts and incredible theming. These two rides do not have a comparison ride in the sister theme park. Both parks share some of the same rides, such as:
There are also a couple of rides between the two parks that are similar but offer important differences. Here are some examples:
The Lands
Disney World: Disneyland: Main Street, USA Main Street, USA Adventureland Adventureland Fantasyland Fantasyland Tomorrowland Tomorrowland Frontierland Frontierland Liberty Square New Orleans Square World Celebration Critter Country World Showcase Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Sunset Boulevard Buena Vista Street Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Hollywood Land Toy Story Land Avengers Campus Dinoland U.S.A Cars Land Pandora - The World of Avatar Pixar Pier Africa Grizzly Peak Asia Discovery Island As you can see, Disney World and Disneyland provide a number of different options for their visitors. While Disneyland and Magic Kingdom have the most similarities, California Adventure offers different lands than Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom do. Pandora - The World of Avatar in Disney World is very popular as it has the hit ride Flight of Passage. On the other hand, Avengers Campus has the rides Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! and Webslingers to offer. Overall, the biggest difference between Disney World and Disneyland are the sizes. Disney World is many times bigger than Disneyland, making the crowds spread out and the wait times shorter (because there are more rides). Ultimately, Disney World has more rides, food, drinks and merchandise and there is simply more magic to be found. When you stack these two parks up against each other, there is not a huge comparison, as Disney World offers so much more for around the same price as Disneyland. Even though Disneyland holds its own special magic as the original Disneyland, Disney World is bigger and better.

Disney World is known to have some of the best food choices around! I am going to list (SOME OF) the best restaurants, in my opinion, that you must try on your next trip to Disney World! Please comment below which restaurants from Disney World are your favorites! 50's Prime Time Café (Sit-down)Located in Hollywood Studios, this (very affordable) restaurant is truly such a memorable experience for the whole family! The waitresses and waiters are filled with some sass and if you misbehave, you better be okay with sweeping the place! The food quality here is simply amazing and there are so many options! Specializing in typical diner food, you can also get very unique desserts along with various kinds of meat dinners! There are many alcohol options for the adults and also a create-your-own dinner option for the children! 50's Prime Time also provides allergy-friendly dessert options. If you want a laughter filled lunch or dinner, I definitely suggest checking out 50's Prime Time Café! Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café (Quick Service)Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café is sincerely my favorite quick service lunch place in Magic Kingdom! Although I am a believer that many restaurants in Disney World use the same food products, I am ALSO a believer that this café carries the best french fries and burgers across all of the Disney World parks! It is very quick and easy to grab food here and there are many places to enjoy your food inside or outside. However, if you get the chance to sit inside, you also get a "live" concert from Sonny Eclipse the Alien! There a quite a few options food wise, but I definitely suggest going with the burger and fries! The back of this restaurant also has a beautiful view of the Cinderella Castle! If you need a quick, family-friendly meal, definitely check out Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant (Sit-down)Although I have never gotten the chance to eat in the Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant in Hollywood Studios, I have heard MANY amazing reviews of it! Inside this amazingly themed restaurant, you sit at tables that look like cars in front of a huge screen that plays Sci-Fi Movie clips while you eat! There are many interesting and delicious options on the menu that also provide allergy friendly options! Here you can find desserts and meals that are exclusive to this restaurant! The theme is very unique and the service is amazing! Definitely try to get a reservation for this restaurant during your next Disney World vacation! Satu'li Canteen (Quick Service)This quick service restaurant in Animal Kingdom is mind blowing! The options here are quite literally out of this world. Here, you can create your own Satu'li bowl by choosing your base., meat and any toppings you would like (such as boba!). And, this restaurant also sells very unique desserts and drinks you cannot find anywhere else! This is definitely one of the most unique quick service restaurants in all of Disney World just because of its exclusive food! There is a lot of seating inside and outside. Satu'li Canteen is truly an immersive experience into the world of Pandora! Also, beside this restaurant is a drink stand that holds some of the most amazing drinks and snacks (snack blog-post to come)! As you can see from the picture above, the food and desserts look truly exquisite and from experience, I can say that they are! Chef Mickey's (Sit-down)Have you ever dreamed of tasting those mickey-shaped waffles? Well, dine here at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort near Magic Kingdom. This buffet style character breakfast is the perfect place to spend time with your family. The Mickey and Friends characters walk around, socialize, and take pictures while you are enjoying your meal! Also, the restaurant (and resort) has some amazing views of Magic Kingdom! There are many options for those with allergies and loads amount of different breakfast foods! This is the best character breakfast I have ever been to so you definitely need to check it out! Primo Piatto (Quick Service)Finally, we have Primo Piatto at the Riveria Resort (near Epcot and Hollywood Studios)! The breakfast food here is absolutely amazing! I would definitely get the soufflé pancakes and the sausage here for breakfast! Along with the amazing food, you can sit outside and over look the beautiful pond! Also, you can take the skyliners to Epcot or Hollywood studios here which provides an even better experience! Allergy friendly foods are also offered at this quick service restaurant as is lunch and dinner! Some of Disney's best finds lie in this adorable restaurant on the back side of the Riviera Resort! If you want a peaceful meal, make sure to check this restaurant out! Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this list of some of the best places, in my opinion, to eat in Disney World. Keep in mind, there are so many different restaurants and quick service options and so many of them are unique and special, these are just my suggestions! Make sure to like and comment if you agree or disagree with my list! What are your favorite sit-downs or quick service restaurants in Disney World? at 18, I have not traveled too much (once) out of the country. but with 40+ states under my belt and 15+ vacations over my life, I feel pretty qualified to give you my top five vacation spots that do not require international travel! (Youtube video on same topic in bar above) 5. Seattle, WashingtonFirst up, I would suggest Seattle for a vacation! There are so many things to do here for all ages! Although there is quite a homeless population, the tourist areas are the safest. There are many museums that are just so amazing to experience. If you choose this as your next vacation spot, then I would definitely suggest you check out the Aquarium, Pike's Place, the First Starbucks, the Gum Wall, and the live performances at the Paramount Theater! You can also take a ferry over to Bain Bridge Island where the cutest town lives. Seattle has amazing restaurant options and many activities for the children and the adults! 4. Banff, CanadaI could not make a top vacation list without including Banff, Canada even if it is not in the United States. Banff is a beautiful national park located in Calgary, Canada. Here you can hike, swim in the hot springs, take scenic tours, dogsled, ski, snowboard, bike ride, see historic sights and so so much more! This is definitely the perfect long-weekend trip to take with the family! Banff also has a very cute Canadian town right outside of it where you can get souvenirs and really amazing food! Calgary is also a great place to explore and it is not far from the national park! I would definitely suggest going here for great family activities and sightseeing! 3. Kauai, HawaiiComing in number three is Kauai. This is definitely a relaxation focused vacation. Because Kauai is so small, you can almost do everything there is to do! There are coffee tours, beaches, lots of shopping, amazing food, luaus, hiking, and so much more! This island is very small, so it is more of an immersive experience than next up on the list. This can be a very inexpensive trip if you stay in an Airbnb rather than a resort or hotel, and if you plan very well! Pros : Cons : relaxing have to rent a car to be able to sightsee lots of sightseeing not as much to do as other islands not as tourist focused as other Hawaiian islands expensive plane tickets shopping snorkeling boats tours hiking and bike riding beautiful weather 2. Maui, HawaiiMaui, in my opinion, is a better vacation than Kauai, although both are amazing options! There is a lot more to do in Maui than there is in Kauai which is why it is my number two on this list. However, Maui is a lot more touristy than Kauai! I loved Maui a lot and I got to do so much with my family! Out of the Hawaiian islands I have been to, Maui is defiantly the most family friendly! I went to Maui when I was 5 years old and I still remember how much fun it was! In opposition to Kauai, Maui has fun elements but also very relaxing ones, too! If you decide to go to Maui, definitely go on the Road to Hana! It is beautiful. There are luaus that you can go to which really bring the island to life! Also make sure that you get some hiking in if you love adventures and beautiful sights! There are beaches everywhere. And my most important suggestion is to try the shave ice! Pros : Cons : family friendly expensive if you have a big family many things to do amazing food authentic experiences with Hawaiians snorkeling tours shopping beautiful weather 1. Disney World, FloridaObviously I am going to suggest Disney World first if you know me at all. There are many perks to Disney World, although there are a couple of down sides. My favorite thing about Disney is how immersive and interactive it is. It is also very safe and very friendly. The food here is amazing (especially the snacks) and it truly is so much fun for the whole entire family. This was always my go to vacation growing up, as it still is today. If you go to Disney World, I would suggest staying on Disney property so you can get the full experience! I would also suggest staying at least 3 days to get to do everything that you want! Make sure that you stop by Disney springs for more Disney related treats and souvenirs! Pros : Cons : many attractions can be very exhausting rides for children and adults Florida can get very very hot great food expensive firework shows big crowds musical shows long lines 4 parks, one water park Florida weather is unreliable disney springs great shopping amazing resorts different events and festivals Thank you so much for reading my top vacation list! Please comment your favorite vacation you have gone on, and any questions you have about the vacation spots I have listed! I can tell you more information on each place if you are interested! If you do want more information and more about my experiences in these places, check out the YouTube video I made in the bar at the top of this page! Thank you again for reading, and I hope you come back to my blog to read more! by, Molly Rose Meredith |
